Track 1 - The Haven of Rest

Words by Henry L. Gilmour; Music by George D. Moore; Public domain

My soul in sad exile was out on life’s sea,
So burdened with sin and distressed,
Till I heard a sweet voice, saying,
“Make Me your choice”;
And I entered the “Haven of Rest”!

Chorus:
I’ve anchored my soul in the “Haven of Rest,”
I’ll sail the wide seas no more;
The tempest may sweep over wild, stormy, deep,
In Jesus I’m safe evermore.

I yielded myself to His tender embrace,
In faith taking hold of the Word,
My fetters fell off, and I anchored my soul;
The “Haven of Rest” is my Lord.

Chorus

The song of my soul, since the Lord made me whole,
Has been the old story so blest,
Of Jesus, Who’ll save whosoever will have
A home in the “Haven of Rest.”

Chorus

O come to the Savior, He patiently waits
To save by His power divine;
Come, anchor your soul in the “Haven of Rest,”
And say, “My Beloved is mine.”

Track 2 - It's Just Like the Lord

Words and music by Abigail Miller

Sometimes I weary upon the path I tread,
Sometimes my heart faints, I fear what lies ahead.
But when upon my knees I seek the Father face to face,
He may not give the answers, but He always gives His grace.

And it’s just like the Lord to lead our feet in ways we cannot see,
Yes, it’s just like the Lord to take us where the darkness seems to be.
But one day when we gather in that great and grand forever,
We will see His hand has failed us never–no, never.
Trust the Lord.

Just when the darkness is closing ’round my head,
Just when my strength fails–I lean on Him instead.
Oh, the Son just comes shining through, I see Him face to face.
I do not need the answers, I only need His grace.

For it’s just like the Lord to open wide the eyes that could not see,
Yes, it’s just like the Lord to flood His light where darkness used to be.
Oh, some day when we gather in that great and grand forever
We will see His hand has failed us never–no, never.
Trust the Lord.

Oh, one day we will gather in that great and grand forever.
Then we’ll see His hand has failed us never–no, never.
Trust the Lord.

Track 3 - If We Could See Beyond Today

Words and Music by Norman J. Clayton

If we could see beyond today
As God can see,
If all the clouds should roll away,
The shadows flee;
O’er present griefs we would not fret
Each sorrow we would soon forget,
For many joys are waiting yet,
For you and me.

If we could know beyond today
As God doth know,
Why dearest treasures pass away,
And tears must flow;
And why the darkness leads to light
Why dreary days will soon grow bright,
Some day life’s wrong will be made right,
Faith tells us so.

If we could see, if we could know,
We often say.
But God in love a veil doth throw
Across our way.
We cannot see what lies before,
And so we cling to Him the more
He leads us till this life is o’er,
Trust and obey.

Track 4 - Lord, I Must Be Yours

Words and music by Abigail Miller

Lord, I must be yours alone.
Teach me I am not my own.
Crush and mold this heart of stone.
In your image make it.

Willful, stubborn, Lord, it’s true-
I do what I want to do.
Let me learn to follow you.
Take my will and break it.

From my self I would be free.
Take all my identity,
Fill with your humility.
Seize my pride and shake it.

When a helpless wreck I am,
Take me and rebuild the sham
To be like the Living Lamb,

My life, on Him I stake it.

Track 5 - The Pilgrim's Wants

Words: 19th C. unknown; Public domain; Music: Abigail Miller

I want a sweet sense of Thy pardoning love,
That my manifold sins are forgiv’n.
That Christ as my Advocate pleadeth above,
That my name is recorded in Heav’n.
I want every moment to feel
That Thy Spirit resides in my heart,
That His power is present to cleanse and to heal,
And newness of life to impart.

Chorus:
I want — oh! I want to attain
Some likeness my Savior to Thee!
That longed for resemblance once more to regain,
Thy comeliness put upon me.

I want Thine own hand to unbind
Each tie to terrestrial things,
Too tenderly cherished, too closely entwined,
Where my heart so tenaciously clings.
I want by my aspect serene,
My actions and words, to declare
That my treasure is placed in a country unseen,
That my heart’s best affections are there.

Chorus

I want as a trav’ler to haste
Straight onward, nor pause on my way;
Nor forethought in anxious contrivance to waste
On the tent only pitched for a day.
I want–and this sums up my prayer–
To glorify Thee till I die,
Then calmly to yield up my soul to Thy care,
And breathe out in faith my last sigh.

Chorus

Track 6 - Have You Died?

Words and music by Abigail Miller

There are so many Christians who name the name of Christ,
Who are washed in Jesus’ blood, and are partakers of new life,
But deep inside they struggle with strong, besetting sin,
And they wonder if they’ll ever learn the victory to win.

Chorus:
Have you died? Have you signed the warrant for your own execution?
Have you come to the end of self, and all your resolution?
When we finally fail in trying, we will find success in dying,
Have you died that you might live in Christ anew?

Lord Jesus, when You came to earth, to give Your life for me,
You faced every strong temptation, but from sin Your life was free.
And if my perfect Savior had to die a cruel death
To obtain my freedom, how can I escape by doing less?

Chorus

The only way to victory is not through strong resolve,
It is not through anything that I can do.
I must learn to see myself upon the cross in Jesus Christ,
And in Him I’ve resurrected to a pure and holy life.

I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live,
Yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.
And the life which I now live in the flesh,
I live by the faith of the Son of God
Who loved me, and gave Himself for me.

Chorus

When we finally fail in trying, we will find success in dying,
Have you died that you might live in Christ anew?

Track 7 - In Christ There's Power

Words and music by Abigail Miller

Christian, have you wondered
What your life in Christ should be?
Does it seem that holiness
Is a fair, elusive dream?
Though you know “your life is hid
In Christ,” the Scriptures say,
Do the things that press you
Seem to keep you from God’s way?

Have you listened to the tempter,
Who will tell you not to try?
He will flaunt you with your failures
‘Til you grieve and mourn and sigh,
And you think you must continue
To struggle all alone
But Christ stands ready, even now
To make His strength your own!

Chorus:
In Christ there’s power to live a holy life.
In Christ we have all the strength we need,
And when we choose to live by faith,
He will uphold us by His grace,
In Christ we can be free.

He has given promises, like keys to dungeon doors
He’ll open gates and windows that
Were bolted shut before–
He wills us to be holy,
Then He promises to give
Christ Himself to dwell in us,
His glorious life to live!

Chorus

God is able to make all grace
Abound toward you and me.
He can keep us from falling,
And present us faultlessly
He will keep what I’ve committed
Unto Him against that day
He will fill us with His Spirit
And all His fullness, ’til we say:
Glory and majesty
Dominion and power
Be unto the only wise God!
Praise and thanksgiving
From our hearts overflow
For the fathomless depths of His Love!

In Christ there’s power to live a holy life.
In Christ we have all the strength we need,
And when we choose to live by faith,
He will uphold us by His grace,
In Christ we can be sanctified and holy,
In Christ we can be free.

Track 8 - This is His Perfect Will

Words and music by Abigail Miller

The story is told of a wedding
In Cana of Galilee.
The wine that they had was in short supply,
In the middle of the feast.
Jesus bade them fill the vessels
With water to the brim,
And when the servants poured it out,
The miracle did begin. . .

For He made the water the sweetest wine,
And all those who thirsted were filled.
He took the common and made it divine.
This is His perfect will.

“I go a fishing,” said Simon,
And five other also would go.
All through the night they were casting their nets
With nothing at all to show.
But in the morning, Jesus met them
And bade them cast once more.
And when they could not lift the nets,
They knew it was the Lord. . .

For He gave them fish, and said “Come, and dine.”
The nets that were empty He filled.
He took the common and made it divine.
This is His perfect will.

Father, I am so like those empty nets,
Lord, I am the vessel of stone.
The strength that I have is in short supply,
For I can do nothing alone.
Let the power of Thy word fill me,
And empty me of “me,”
And, choosing to obey in faith,
Your miracles I will see. . .

For Your take Your own strength and make it mine,
And all who are thirsty You fill.
You take the common and make it divine;
This is Your perfect will—

For He made the water the sweetest wine,
And all those who thirsted were filled.
He took the common and made it divine.
This is His perfect will.

Oh, yield to His perfect will!

Track 9 - I Am His and He Is Mine

Words by George Robinson; Music by James Mountain; Public domain

Loved with everlasting love, led by grace that love to know;
Gracious Spirit from above, Thou hast taught me it is so!
O this full and perfect peace! O this transport all divine!
In a love which cannot cease, I am His, and He is mine.
In a love which cannot cease, I am His, and He is mine.

Heav’n above is softer blue, Earth around is sweeter green!
Something lives in every hue Christless eyes have never seen;
Birds with gladder songs o’erflow, flowers with deeper beauties shine,
Since I know, as I now know, I am His, and He is mine.
Since I know, as I now know, I am His, and He is mine.

Things that once were wild alarms cannot now disturb my rest;
Closed in everlasting arms, pillowed on the loving breast.
O to lie forever here, doubt and care and self resign,
While He whispers in my ear, I am His, and He is mine.
While He whispers in my ear, I am His, and He is mine.

His forever, only His; Who the Lord and me shall part?
Ah, with what a rest of bliss Christ can fill the loving heart!
Heav’n and earth may fade and flee, firstborn light in gloom decline;
But while God and I shall be, I am His, and He is mine.
But while God and I shall be, I am His, and He is mine.

Track 10 - I Am Thy Reward

Words and music by Abigail Miller

Is there a longing in your heart?
Is there an empty place?
Is there some gift that you desire,
For which you seek God’s face?
Be of good courage, wait on the Lord,
And hear what He tells us in His word:

Chorus:
I am thy exceeding great reward.
I am thy exceeding great reward.
All that thy heart desires,
Find it in the Lord,
For I am thy exceeding great reward.

When I delight myself in the Lord,
He is my one desire.
And as I seek to know Him more,
He fills me with His fire.
Wood, hay, and stubble are all purged away,
And joy fills my soul, when I hear Him say:

Chorus

“The Lord is my portion,” saith my soul,
I yield my life to His control, oh,
I will delight myself in the Lord,
For He is my exceeding great reward.

Chorus

I am thy exceeding great reward.

Track 11 - The King of Love My Shepherd Is

Words by Henry W. Baker; Music: St. Columba (Irish Melody); Public domain

Chorus:
The King of love my shepherd is,
Whose goodness faileth never.
I nothing lack if I am his,
And he is mine forever.

Where streams of living water flow,
My ransomed soul he leadeth;
And where the verdant pastures grow,
With food celestial feedeth.

Perverse and foolish, oft I strayed,
But yet in love he sought me;
And on his shoulder gently laid,
And home, rejoicing, brought me.

Chorus

In death’s dark vale I fear no ill,
With thee, dear Lord, beside me;
Thy rod and staff my comfort still,
Thy cross before to guide me.

Thou spreadst a table in my sight;
Thy unction grace bestoweth;
And oh, what transport of delight
From thy pure chalice floweth!

Chorus

And so through all the length of days,
Thy goodness faileth never;
Good Shepherd, may I sing thy praise
Within thy house forever.
